Universal design was coined by American Ron Mace who set up 7 simple principles in 1985. In Europe, universal design is often times called inclusive design or design for all. Europe is leading the way in designing universal products. In Lamorlaye, France Mr. Jean-Yves Prodel, will receive a Universal Design Award for the renovations he did on his home. It has the striking beauty that all universal design kitchens should have and that is you should not be able to tell the difference on who uses it.
